Forget cider and wine, mulled beer is the thing to be drinking this year over the festive season – our recipe has Christmassy flavours of cinnamon, cloves, star anise and clementine.
1 Litre Non Blonde Ginger Lager
300ml Clear Apple Juice
100ml Calvados or Brandy
1 Cinnamon Stick
5 Cloves
1 Star Anise
½ Lemon, zest peeled off in a strip
Clementines or Orange, zest peeled off in a strip
4-6 Tablespoons Light Muscovado Sugar
Put all the ingredients into a saucepan and bring them slowly to just below a simmer – don’t let it come to a boil.
Serve in heatproof glasses
Dress with a twist of Orange Peel and a stick of cinnamon
